April. (with my eyes rolling)

So I'm thinking April is not my lucky month... April Fool's day was my first hint. I wasn't feeling well, so when Rob got home from work that morning he offered to stay up a few extra hours to watch the boys, and I slept in. I should have known better. When I walked out of the bedroom, he had fallen asleep on the couch. (Can't blame the guy after a 12 hr night shift.) But the boys were in front of the fridge... covered in egg! We just got 4 dozen fresh farm eggs from a guy at work! They got a hold of 2 and a half cartons, and they broke all of them. They were standing in a big puddle of eggs, it was in their hair, on their clothes, they had rubbed it onto their arms and legs. I couldn't even speak I was so shocked!! I wish I had my senses about me enough to take a picture. Unfortunately, this was one of those moments that it didn't occur to me. I prodded Rob awake and watched my shock come alive on his own face! He felt bad enough that he cleaned everything up for me in the kitchen, while I cleaned the rascals. What a mess!!
Today was just as wonderful. I invited my Gramie over for dinner, this being Easter Sunday. I spent most of yesterday preparing the meal and cleaning the house. This morning I woke up early (thank you bladder), only to realize I had made everything but the main dish!!! I could NOT believe it! Of all things. So when Gramie showed up, we got to surprise her with dinner out! Thank goodness the restaurants were still open.
I sincerely hope the rest of the month goes smoothly.
Here's a couple of Easter pictures, which I'm sure I'll post on FB too.

Recently, Rob and I sat down to look over our spending habits. They are not too bad, if I say so myself, except for groceries. We spend a horrific amount of money on groceries every month!! I am not very organized when it comes to meal planning, so I end up stopping by the store a couple times a week. Each time I go in, I pick up things I don't necessarily need. So I've decided to get a grip on groceries. I've found a few websites that teach the basics of how to use coupons the right way, and how to lower your grocery bill. I don't want to be an extreme couponer, by any means, but I'd like to experience the 'rush' they talk about when saving a bunch of money! So I'm going to try it out. I made a meal plan for the next couple of weeks, and I'm going to do my best to stick with it. I haven't found much luck in the way of coupons this week, but that's something I can figure out as I go. I thought there would be a bunch of coupons in the Sunday paper, but I didn't find any. None. Slightly disappointed. But if I get good at this, I can eventually boast about the things I got for a penny on the dollar!!
