Connor's random thought of the day: "When the lompsters (lobsters) come, they're going to snap our hair off and we'll be bald. But then we'll EAT the lompsters! And we'll have lompster breath!"
While the wind is blowing wildly at the house, "The wind wants to knock our house over. But God will pick up our house. Then it can't get blowed over."
And trying to convince Max, "I am FUNNY. And you will laugh. Ready?"
Max asked to go outside this morning. When I told him it was too windy and cold outside he started begging. He informed me that he wouldn't be cold. It went a little like this, "Noit'snotcoldoutsideIcanwearmywarmjacketandmytummywon'tbecoldanymoreandicanwearmyheadjacketanditcangoovermyheadlikethisziiiiiiiip!anditwillcovermytummysoicanbewarmoutsideandnotwindyandmyshirtwill.... Mommy my shirt has a baseball on it! Look! And a skateboard! MommycanIgooutsideandbewarmandplaymybaseballgamesoIdon'tgetcold????" (wiggles butt for emphasis.)
That pretty much sums up how he talks. All the time. Someday I WILL capture his crazy conversations on video!
They got to play outside again. How can I resist the butt wiggle?? They've been outside all day every day this week. We've had weather in the high 60's and 70's. They are both sun burned. I love the pink cheeks and noses though! Connor has a tiny string of freckles that pop up across his cheekbones. Today it's only 40 degrees with 20 mph winds. It's COLD! Sorry my MN friends, I know you're in a blizzard warning....
We've been in a little whirlwind of kindergarten preps. Naturally, I'm completely unorganized and unprepared. I don't have Connor's immunization records, so I've had to make some calls to get them sent out. I took the kids to the orientation at the school. That was fun and a half. The school here is year-round. There are four 'tracks'. I learned from my neighbor that tracks A and D have most of the summer off, and are therefore extremely hard to get into. So if there are ever family get togethers in the future summers, we might be screwed. Also.. there are no buses. This is a drop off only school. SERIOUSLY?? I'm hoping Connor and Dax end up on the same track. Then his mom and I can take turns with drop off duty.
I still can't believe we are getting ready for kindergarten!! Sweet Connor. He's reading and writing, and he's so ready for the next step, but I think he's going to have a hard time. New things scare him. At the orientation, he was separated from us and brought to a classroom with a bunch of other kids while the parents went to the gym. A few minutes into it, he was brought into the gym by a 5th grader. He was crying and distraught! It broke my heart. I think I'll be standing in the hallway outside his classroom for the first day. (Or month) Growing up is scary.
Look at that face. I'm so madly in love with her!!
My good lookin' kids. And the drunken sailor.
She's pretty sure she looks fabulous.
